TileRunner is the standard for drive systems in
FIRST Tech Challenge. We designed it to be configured in many different ways to suit the teams using it. From multiple gearbox locations and options to wheel choices, TileRunner gives you endless adjustment to build your robot your way.
We identified a few common upgrades on TileRunner's standard drive system. These upgrade kits cover a wide range of use cases, from high-speed maneuvering to moving heavy loads with ease and loads of grip and are used with the
TileRunner Original 6WD (am-3437):
-
TileRunner GTO (am-3734): For increased maneuverability, this version substitutes NeveRest Orbital 20 gearmotors (am-3637) and black 4 in. Stealth Wheels (am-2648_Blk) with higher grip than stock and the proper mounting plate, PickBox GEO Plate (am-3476), for the Orbital Gearmotors.
-
TileRunner BullDozer (am-3457): When you want to push, pick this! NeveRest Classic 60 gearmotors (am-3103) provide maximum torque, while six of our softest compound blue 4 in. Stealth Wheels (am-2648_Blue) put that to the ground for maximum pushing force. Pushing hard will increase wear on these wheels, so have a spare set handy for competition time.
-
TileRunner Performance Wheel (am-3459): The TileRunner Performance Wheel Upgrade is your go-to for heavy robots! Six 4 in. Performance Wheels (am-3612) and a 10' roll of our Gray Grippy Tread (am-2611a) replace the Stealth Wheels and provide a very robust drive system.
-
TileRunner SD Mecanum (am-3455): Get set to strafe with four PicoBox Unos replacing the two PicoBox Duos of the standard TileRunner. You'll receive four 4 in. standard-duty mecanum wheels (am-2538) instead of Stealth Wheels, as well as all the spacers, shafts, and gears to get you up and running.
-
SD to HD Mecanum (am-3996): If you already have a TileRunner with SD mecanum wheels this kit will upgrade your chassis to run the new for 2018 HD Mecanum Wheels. This setup continues to use PicoBox Unos and updates the spacers for the new wheels.
-
TileRunner HD Mecanum (am-3997): Get set to strafe with four PicoBox Unos replacing the two PicoBox Duos of the standard TileRunner. You'll receive four 4 in. HD FTC Mecanum Wheels (am-3919) instead of Stealth Wheels, as well as all the spacers, shafts, and gears to get you up and running.
-
TreadRunner (am-3969): Traverse any terrain with a tread equipped TileRunner. This robot drive chassis drives a pair of 2 in. wide timing belt treads to push, climb, and overcome obstacles in it's path. Like other standard TileRunners, it uses two PicoBox Duos along with sturdy aluminum sheet metal frame components. This version of the TileRunner retains the drop center performance boost by adding an idler pulley where the traditional center wheel goes. This way the TreadRunner turns on a dime and trucks in a straight line like no TileRunner kit before.
