Product Overview

The S3 Linear Motion Kit is designed to integrate perfectly with the S3 building system to allow you to make all manner of powered slides, elevators and lifts, or whatever sort of straight line, backy-forthy machine you can imagine! This kit can be used vertically, horizontally or at any angle in between. This easy to assemble kit attaches to S3 extrusions so that you can customize the length of each stage and carriage. The system was designed with the string in mind so that it can be efficiently routed for smooth, worry free operation. The aluminum brackets are light weight and strong to position the bearings at the right locations. These bearings act on the walls of an adjacent piece of S3 allowing you the freedom and flexibility of the S3 building system at every stage of your linear motion machine. The kit contains enough parts to assemble 2 bearing assemblies. You'll need to add pairs of bearing assemblies depending on the number of stages you're looking to build.

    So far so good

We have not been able to implement it yet but the assembly has gone well for 7th through 9th grade students. We wanted to upgrade to a mencaum drive this year but there are no expansion hubs to run the 5th motor for the lift. If anyone knows how to run 5 motors off of a single hub your help would be greatly appreciated as we are a 2nd year middle school FTC team.
