The Robits building system uses Tubes as the main structural component. These tubes feature holes on a 1/2 inch grid, matching all Robits components.
0.5 in. x 0.5 in. Tube Profile:
This is the most basic building block of the Robits system. The Tube is 0.5 in. x 0.5 in., with a wall thickness of 0.063 in. Each side has holes every 0.5 inch for the length of the Tube making it easy to mount components in 90° increments. These are great for creating structure and motion components due to their small profile and easy to fasten to nature.
These are currently available in 1.5, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 inch lengths.
1 in. x 1 in. Tube Profile:
This Tube profile allows motion components to be seamlessly integrated into a Robits structure. Two sides of this extrusion feature two rows of holes, 0.5 inches from each other. The other two faces have a pattern that includes holes for bushings, allowing gears, pulleys and sprockets to spin easily on a predefined spacing.
These are currently available in 8 and 15.5 inch lengths.
1 in. x 0.5 in. Tube Profile:
These Tubes are like our 0.5 in. x 0.5 in Tubes but double wide. They feature two rows of holes on the 1 inch wide face and single row of holes on the 0.5 inch space, all spaced 0.5 inches apart. These are great for more robust connections as well as supporting linear motion.
These are currently available in 14 inch lengths.
