Product Overview

The nub is a series of hubs intended to connect motion components to spinning shafts, like sprockets gears, pulleys and wheels. It supports the output shaft of the AndyMark NeveRest motors as well as the other motors on the market. It supports the AndyMark 6mm D shafts for robust motion systems and impeccable torque transfer.

The four mounting holes on these nubs are sized at 0.128" diameter, with the intention of accepting a #6-32 threaded screw. They are not tapped, but can be tapped by most machine screws due to this diameter.

    great idea

We don't have a lot of burn time on these yet, but since Hubs are easily our teams biggest source of unreliability, we are optimistic this new design will put that behind us. I wonder if they would be better if the holes were tapped. We put some together without tapping and some with, so we will see how it turns out. (untapped, it seemed the edge of the Nub distorted a little more than we liked. We wondered if maybe that would serve like a locking mechanism, but tapped some of them to compare).

great for people not so good at set screws.

This takes the set screw out of the torque transmission path, so if you don't get it tight, it still spins. Might fall off, but until then, will keep spinning.

    Single Use Only

These are great, but pretty much single use only. Extremely hard to screw in bolts and even harder to remove them

Good fit and finish - Nubs

These nubs are being used in our version of the robotics base. They work exactly as advertised. My only complaint is the shipping time and cost. In today's market, it should not take a week to deliver these parts. When we order parts mid-season, we really need them in 2 days - but we cannot afford the huge premium for 2 day shipping. Recommend looking at other shipping contracts, or working with Amazon Prime.
