Product Overview

Product Overview:
This wheel has improved capacity, lower cost, and better interfacing ability than our older 8 in. Mecanum wheels. This version is named 8" MK Mecanum in honor and memory of AndyMark co-founder Mark Koors (MK).

This is a set of 4 wheels, consisting of 2 "right" wheels and 2 "left" wheels. All 4 wheels are required to make a Mecanum drive holonomic system to work properly.

Strong, steel side plates are riveted to a black polycarbonate core. This core has a common AndyMark hub, designed for mounting aluminum hubs, sprockets, or bearings easily. The standard 6-hole mounting pattern and bearing bore are utilized here on the wheel. The rollers are molded with a nylon core and a 80A durometer TPU overmold in a special way which adheres the roller core to the skin for high durability. These rollers spin on a captured brass axle tube, contained by a #10 machine screw.

We have been able to drive cost out of these wheels, so they are less expensive than our previous 8" Mecanum wheels, while still having a very high capacity and a smooth roll.

These wheels are ASSEMBLED and shipped ready to roll!

Mark co-founded AndyMark with Andy Baker in 2004 and designed numerous products - including mecanum wheels until his retirement in 2016.
AndyMark is known for being the first company who made Mecanum wheels commercially available to all robot builders in 2006. He and Andy were inspired by FIRST Robotics Team 357, Royal Assault, after they introduced Mecanum wheels to FIRST during the 2005 competition season. Mark passed away in 2020.

Best heavy duty wheels in the FRC world. Period.

Please don't ever stop making these. If you are on the fence, know this: These are heavy that's where the cons stop. These are as student proof as you can get. We got told for years that we would be pushed around with Mecanum wheels. Not these. They have taken our Robots to a regional win as an alliance captain and to the highest levels of competition for years now, and no one has ever bullied us on the field. Not the usual little hard plastic little toy mech wheels, these wheels bite the carpet like Velcro and can give your drive team the ability to still straight push extreme power to the floor and the ability to roll off a bulldozing defender like a professional athlete.

    Our Go To solution

Have ran these hard for two seasons on Comp and practice robots, all right at weight limits to six regionals. Have fallen from several climbs in multiple games and still have never broken even a single roller axle or roller. Highly recommended.
