Product Overview

AVAILABILITY NOTE: This bearing kit has been discontinued and replaced by our newer bearing kit, am-3779a.

The AndyMark 2x1 Elevator System is designed to be a robust, easy to use solution for building reliable linear motion systems. This easy-to-build bearing kit solves one of the most difficult parts of building these mechanisms by providing precision cut sheet metal brackets to support the rollers and bearings for a smooth single-stage linear system. Use this in conjunction with your existing stockpile of 2" x 1" aluminum tubing and gussets to quickly create linear motion systems of a variety of sizes.

Note: This product is specifically designed for 2"x1" (outside dimensions) aluminum box tubing. It is not compatible with other sizes of aluminum tubing.

Word of warning if purchasing am-3779

Shortly after trading Andy for our team's only 3D-Printer, we constructed this elevator system and realized that there was no limit to how high we could reach. Though we cautioned our students before we went home for the evening, we returned the next day to find our students had entered the Cloud Kingdom and found a golden boombox that played itself. After a verbal confrontation with a rather large fellow named Blunderbore (or maybe it was Gogmagog) we cut through the 2x1 with our handy Milwaukee Super Sawzall, then discussed how the team could not keep a goose as a mascot. Please keep this in mind when determining the length of your elevator stages before cutting.
