All AndyMark gearboxes require grease for proper operation and long life. We suggest using our red tacky grease, am-2768. We also encourage that the user powers the gearbox continuously for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in. While we do design with short run times in mind, this 'run in' period for smooth gearbox operation, is recommended. Once this is completed, thoroughly grease the gear teeth periodically to ensure smooth operation.
This 31-inch-long Nano Tube houses two complete gearboxes, each having the same gearing and shafts as the Nano with 500 Key Shaft. This unit also has a third central shaft, which is dropped by 0.13 inch compared to the end shafts. This central shaft is driven by a 25-series chain from one of the end drive shafts. Nano Tube accepts two 2.5 inch CIM Motors. Hardware is included for attaching this motor.
This product is intended to be used as a complete drive module for the side of a 6-wheel-drive robot. A second tube is to be used on the opposite side of the robot in order to make the complete drive chassis. Version: 3-shaft, 500 Key, Chain Drive

Aluminum Hex Output Shafts:
The Toughbox Nano Tube can use an optional Short 1/2" Hex Aluminum Output Shaft with Magnet for ToughboxÂ® Series (am-am-0397a) as a separate purchase but a FR8ZZ-Hex bearing MUST also be ordered SEPARATELY to replace the FR8ZZ bearing supporting each output shaft. Also, the sprockets must be swapped out for 1/2" hex bore sprockets.
