Credit Card Security Code

The Security Code is usually a 3- or 4-digit number, which is not part of the credit card number and is typically printed on the back of a credit card (usually in the signature field), or following the full card number on the front of the card.

Note that different card brands may refer to the Security Code by different terms, such as Card Code Verification (CCV), Card Security Code (CSC), Card Verification Data (CVD), Card Verification Value (CVV/CVV2), Card Verification Code (CVC/CVC2), or Verification Code (V-Code).
