Product Usage:
All AndyMark gearboxes require grease for proper operation and long life. We suggest using our red tacky grease, am-2768. We also encourage that the user powers the gearbox continuously for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in. While we do design with short run times in mind, this 'run in' period for smooth gearbox operation, is recommended. Once this is completed, thoroughly grease the gear teeth periodically to ensure smooth operation.

Great gearboxes but some mounting issues November 7, 2014

I found that the bolt heads/nuts for mounting this gearbox end up interfering with the space that the CIM occupies.

Needed a little work February 1, 2014
Reviewer: Alvin from San Jose, CA
So we received 4 of these gear boxes as part of the AM14U Mecanum set. The idea of these gear boxes are great, rectangular tubing, hex gears, simple and elegant. However, the batch that we got needed a lot of adjustments to make work well. There is too much play on the hex relative to the shafts, and it allows the gears rub against the other bearings. We had to shim both shafts to take the play out of it. On one of the gear box, the motor mounting hole was off a bit and also caused additional bind. Ones we fixed these issues, the gear box was a LOT quieter and smoother. oh yeah, we converted the mounting bolts near the cims to flat head as well to avoid interference.
