All AndyMark gearboxes require grease for proper operation and long life. We suggest using our red tacky grease, am-2768. We also encourage that the user powers the gearbox continuously for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in. While we do design with short run times in mind, this 'run in' period for smooth gearbox operation, is recommended. Once this is completed, thoroughly grease the gear teeth periodically to ensure smooth operation.
This 20-inch-long Nano Tube houses two complete gearboxes that drive 3 output shafts. Each has the same gearing and shafts as the Nano with 500 Key Shaft. Toughbox Nano Tube accepts two 2.5 inch CIM Motors. Hardware is included for attaching two of these motors.
This product is intended to be used as a complete drive module for the side of a 6-wheel-drive robot. The center shaft is slightly lower than the two outer shafts for better turning. A second tube is to be used on the opposite side of the robot in order to make the complete drive chassis. This same Nano Tube could be used for a 4-wheel-drive robot by removing the center shaft.

Aluminum Hex Output Shaft:
The Toughbox Nano Tube can use a hex aluminum output shaft and a long hex aluminum output shaft, but a FR8ZZ-Hex bearing MUST be ordered SEPARATELY to replace the FR8ZZ bearing supporting each output shaft.
