Product Overview:
This is the official Field Perimeter Kit for the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). This field may be referenced as am-0481 in your Field Build Guide. These part numbers represent the same field kit. It is reusable from year to year and does not include the game-specific hardware or game pieces.

The field is comprised of 12 polycarbonate and powder coated aluminum panels that create a 11' 9" x 11' 9" square enclosure. Each side wall consists of 3 panels, connected by aluminum panel links. Soft Tiles (sold separately) create the playing surface while adjustable straps placed under this playing surface help keep the walls steady while taking abuse.

This field has been upgraded for the 2013-2014 season!
Hinged corners and hitch pins make for easy setup that requires no tools. Glued panels of the past have been replaced by panels assembled using a mechanical interference fit. A new extrusion design includes a built in wire way to neatly run wires around the field as needed. Field weight and assembly time has been significantly reduced from previous versions.

Optional Sizes:
Middle panels are optional, which will allow you to create a 12' x 8' field or an 8' x 8' field if desired.

Thank you for working out sending a field kit to two different schools, but allowing one bill. That helped our system of accounting.  Your willingness to work this out was most helpful.

Bad Machined parts and instruction guide poor. December 18, 2013
Reviewer: Preeti De (FRC 3059 & FTC 6761) from Yonkers, NY United States
Instructions for the field regarding the belts was unclear - do these go over the tiles or under the tiles. If they go under, we don't know how the tiles will fit, if they go over, then it interferes with the game. Confused. Might be a good idea to give instructions for field perimeter and soft tiles together.

The product machining is poor. Many of the field perimeter sections had bent ends. We had to straighten out all the metal parts before we could even attempt putting them together. The metal pieces that slide between two perimeter panels were difficult to slide in 50% of them. Two of them did not line up with the holes correctly no matter which way we put. Finally had to drill two additional holes.

Field Kit December 10, 2013

The it arrived with several bent pieces, mostly the insert tabs which could be straightened.

Other that that is was a comfortable experience.

Does this kit come with corner pieces.  From a construction guys point of view  the corners of this kit look dangerous.
