2012 FIRST® Choice
FIRST Choice is a menu of items available to registered 2012 FRC
teams, for free, as part of their Kit of Parts. Starting December 12,
2011, teams will be able to view some of the items that will be
available at www.andymark.com/firstchoicepublic. On January 9, 2012, teams may log in to the FIRST Choice site, hosted by AndyMark, and use a set number of credits to select items they wish to receive. The FIRST Choice program will close on April 23. 
AndyMark is pleased to announce that we will once again host FIRST Choice for the 2012 FRC build season through our website at www.andymark.com.
We wanted to share with you the information we have available to us now, and we will pass on updates as they become available.
FIRST CHOICE
Like last year, teams
will receive a standard KoP as they traditionally have (the details
regarding size and weight will be posted on Bill's Blog
closer to Kickoff). Rookie teams will also receive the "Rookie" kit.
In addition to the physical KoP distributed at Kickoff, all teams will
be invited to select items, through FIRST Choice, that they want in addition to the items they received at Kickoff.
For those of you who didn't participate last year, FIRST Choice
is an online extension of the traditional KoP where teams can pick and
choose the items they would like to add to their kits. The items are
free, but teams incur the cost of shipping the items. There won't be
enough pieces for everyone to have one of everything-so think of it
more as a menu. Items will be issued to teams on a first come-first
serve basis.
Although FIRST Choice is an FRC
initiative, the actual site will continue to be an extension of the
AndyMark, Inc. website. Teams will log into the website using their
secure username and password (provided to the teams closer to Kickoff)
to see the items, select the items they wish to receive, and choose a
shipping option. They will also have the opportunity to add other
AndyMark, Inc. products that they wish to purchase to the shipment.
Dates to Remember:
There are a few important dates teams should note on their calendars:
12.12.11: FIRST Choice site opens for viewing only.
01.09.12: FIRST Choice site opens for orders.
04.30.12: FIRST Choice site closes.
Here is some more info on FIRST Choice:
a. The FIRST Choice store will be hosted on the AndyMark website,
but will have its own section of the website where each team will login
with it's Team Number and password to order parts. Passwords will be
distributed to the teams main/alternate contacts over email. b. The FIRST Choice store will be open to the public for viewing. c.
(The plan is that) Teams will be given a credit limit that they can
use to buy FIRST Choice parts. They can place as many orders as they
want until their credit limit is depleted. d. Teams can add FIRST Choice parts to their cart along with their AndyMark parts to save money on shipping!
